ONE-WAY RADIO RECEIVERS REQUIRED FOR RACEWAY PARK IN 2020
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will be requiring the use of one-way radios by all drivers anytime they are on the track beginning in 2020. This is being done for safety as well as making starts and restarts occur in a timely manner.
These radios are already mandatory for the PA State Championship Series and Burris Money Series events as well as at other local kart tracks. Seven Stars Speedway has made them mandatory as well.
These radios MUST be capable of receiving frequency 454.000
The recommended units are the RACEceiver Element (rechargeable), RACEceiver Fusion Plus or RACEceiver Legend Plus. Packages are usually available that include ear buds. RACEceiver’s web site is www.Raceceiver.com although these and other brands may be purchased elsewhere.
The non-rechargeable units normally require a fresh battery each week regardless of the quality of battery used and the rechargeable units should be charged every week.
Spot checks will be made to verify use. Anyone not having a properly working receiver will not be permitted on the track or if found during an event will be taken off the track and scored last.
It is the driver’s responsibility to be sure their unit is in proper working order anytime they are on the track. Properly working is defined as a unit in good working order, properly powered on, tuned to the correct frequency, ear buds or other similar device plugged into the unit and properly situated in or about the ear, volume set high enough to hear over outside noise.
Please invest in a reliable pair of earbuds as they are the most common culprit in communication issues. It is not necessary to buy the most expensive pair on the market but a $5 pair may not hold up.
Only the race director or head flagman will have a radio that can communicate to the drivers.
No communication will occur while the track is green except for safety issues such as yellow or red flags.
Drivers will have until April 24, 2020 to be in compliance. If your first 2020 race at SelinsgroveRacewayPark is after April 24, 2020 you will be given a one race waiver but you must be in compliance before your 2nd event.
If you have any questions contact track management or race director at the “Race Day at the Dealership” at Selinsgrove Ford on March 7th, at the track on Friday nights or by email at promoter@SelinsgroveSpeedway.com or rprace@SelinsgroveSpeedway.com
